Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Haul Part II

If you seen my last post you knew this was coming. This haul, I wanted to try and get new releases to try out. Two items were new releases and the other was a VIB Rouge early access item. So, lets just dive right in!

Prices are all CAD again.

Weekend #2:

Smashbox + Vlada Petal Metal Highlighter in Gilded Rose

$49 at Sephora

This was one of the new releases from the sale. It is gorgeous! The packaging has a lot of attention to detail with the 3D rose design. The product itself is pressed into a rose, which I thought I would wreck when I swatched it, but luckily it’s a bit harder than I thought. I have only used this 2 times now so I’m just getting a feel for it. So far, I love it! Without thinking too much about it, I always reach for it. The highlight is a beautiful gold with a pink/gold pearl making it natural when you want it to be.

Hourglass Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder

$55 at Sephora

This was the early access item. I actually never even seen this anywhere on the Sephora site but I did seen Hourglass hinting it so I decided to dig deeper. When I found it I knew I need it in my life. I was right! This powder is a dream. It’s so soft it melts into the skin. I find that because I have dry skin I have a hard time finding a setting powder that doesn’t make my skin tight after applying it. This powder doesn’t make anything feel tight. I absolutely love it so far. The packaging is darling too. The sifter is in the form of an “H” and the gold is so mesmerizing.

Milk Makeup KUSH High Volume Mascara in Boom

$29 at Sephora

High volume indeed! I wasn’t too hesitant about this mascara. The night before it launched in stores I had seen footage from the launch party. I heard so many people say how good it was and that the tube was heavy. The first thing I did when I received this mascara was to see for myself how dramatic the beauty world was. This time they weren’t fibbing. The tube is hefty! The metal packaging probably contributes to that. The wand was very fluffy and quite big to which I wasn’t sure how to feel about without using it. Once I used it I fell so hard in love with it. The wand coats your lashes easily and its not too big that you are hitting it all over the place.

I quite enjoyed this mascara regardless of the ingredients.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original

$28 at Sephora for Full Size

I have only used this once but for a sample the amount of product you get will last a few uses, as long as you can keep it from drying out. I actually haven’t tried this yet for how popular it may be. I don’t find myself using eyeshadow primers much and usually just use a decent concealer. I found this to be really smooth and creamy to apply just with a finger. My shadows never creased or anything like that and it was easy to apply shadow on top of.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

$44 at Sephora for Full Size

I live by the original photo finish primer so I thought this sample would be perfect to try some of the other primers out as it has 4 blisters with product. I haven’t tried them out yet but I am excited to.

GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Treatment

$75 at Sephora for Full Size

I haven’t tried this yet. I love GlamGlow as a brand and I have dry skin so I thought why not. If it works for my skin it would be worth the purchase of a full sized one.

Have you tried any of these yet? Do you think any of them are worth the hype?

Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Haul Part I

Every year Sephora has their VIB sale which you get 15% off. This year I scooped up a few items booth weekends. The first weekend I got some things that have been on my radar for a little while now. (The second weekend haul will be in a separate post.) I haven’t had a lot of time to fool around with anything a whole lot yet but these are my first impressions of the items.

As a heads up, all prices are in CAD.

Weekend #1:

Smashbox Always On Liquid Eyeliner in Black

$28 at Sephora

I drew on the back of my hand with this eyeliner and let it dry. The tip is very precise and easy to use for now. When I rubbed my finger across my swatches nothing changed. There was no cracking or smudge. I added water and started to lightly rub and nothing changed. I then rubbed harder and it did start to smudge a little but granted you shouldn’t be rubbing your eyes this hard ever.. It passed my tests this far. I then added just some hand soap with the water and it really started to come off but it didn’t completely lift. Today, being the next day and I have washed my hand numerous times and showered since the eyeliner tests and I still have a faint bit of eyeliner on my hand.

With that all said, I would 100% say this eyeliner is smudge proof, waterproof and transfer-resistant. As for any of the other claims, I will have to further investigate.

Sephora Collection 10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation in 10 Light Ivory (N)

$25 at Sephora

I don’t have much to say as I can’t run the say test for a foundation but I can say that when I did a quick swatch of the foundation on the back of my hand the color seemed a bit off to me but once it was some what blended out it started to match perfectly. I believe that is what they say is the second skin technology that this foundation was created with.

I think that this foundation will be lightweight and easy to wear.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water x Nicol Concillio in So Chill Cocount

$39 at Sephora

This primer water smells amazing! I don’t usually care for coconuts but the scent is so refreshing and not over powering at all. When I set my makeup with this spray I had already had on some Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray so I will have to try it without anything else still but I really enjoyed this spray in addition. I did notice that my foundation seemed to be staying hydrated the whole time I wore it, which doesn’t usually happen that often.

I think that I am really going to enjoy using it.

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Illumination Cream with SPF 50+ in Fair

$49 at Sephora

Much like the other foundation in this haul, I didn’t put this foundation to the test yet. I did swatch it on the back of my hand like the other foundation. It does seem a bit too dark which is unfortunate since this is the lightest shade out of only 7. I want to see if once it is blended that maybe it will correct out still. I have high hopes.

There was one thing that I didn’t much care for even just with the swatch, regardless of shade. When I washed off the foundation it became quite glittery… I’m not sure if that is the illumination properties that is in it but I’m not sure how much I would enjoy having my face turn into a glitter bomb at any point of the day. Only time will tell for that one.

Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo

$30 at Sephora

I have only heard good things about this dry shampoo. I haven’t been able to try it out yet but I am hoping it lives up to expectations.

Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer

$26 at Sephora

This primer is weird but that’s why I chose it. There are different shades of primers in the full size. You can get light, medium, dark, white and smoke. In the sample you get white and smoke. The shades light, medium and dark are color-correcting to neutralize imperfections. Smoke is to deepen and intensify smokiness. White is to brighten allowing shadows to pop more. All are made to have an even and smooth application on the eye lid without causing creasing, caking, fading or smudging throughout the day.

I will have to try this out yet but I don’t really see myself using the smoke shade all that much or at all. the white I could see it being used to cut your crease nicely.

Lancôme LA BASE PRO Perfecting Makeup Primer

$50 at Sephora

This primer is oil free and is supposed to create a smooth, radiant, long-lasting canvas for your makeup. Giving you an airbrushed look.

I guess we’ll see.

beautyblender liquid blendercleanser®

$25 at Sephora for the 5 oz.

I love this cleanser for cleaning my beautyblender. I have used it before but ran out recently and have been using the solid cleanser to give it a try. I this there is an ease with using the liquid cleanser but I think that the solid is perfect for travel.

Let me know what you got from the sale. Do you use any of these items? Do you recommend any of them to anyone?
